2 killed, 22 injured after Yatra bus collided with truck in South Kashmir

A mini bus bearing registration number JK0IJ/6151 boarded with Amarnath Yatra passengers collided with a truck bearing no.JK02A/5365 at Halmulla Sangam of Anantnag resulting the injuries of 30 Yatris including driver.Reports said two persons namely Pramod Kumar (A Yatri) and driver Bilal mir son of Mohammad Yousuf of Kangan have died on way to hospital.The injured Yatris have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment. 

There were rumours that the yatra bus was attacked by stone pelters.However SHO Bijbehara told KNS that the yatra bus was on way to Jammu from Baltal when it was collided at 5 am near Halmula Sangam with a truck which was on way to Srinagar from Anantnag.He denies the rumours of any attack from stone pelters on yatra bus. CMO Anantnag, Dr Fazil Ali told KNS that at least 31 Yatris including a local driver were injured in the accident while a driver and one yatra succumbed to their injuries. “Seven Yatris were discharged after treatment while 22 Yatris were shifted to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment,” he said.
