CM dedicates developmental projects worth Rs. 5.81 crore in Rohru area

Stresses on strengthening the educational & health infrastructure for quality services

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh dedicated developmental projects worth Rs. 5.81 crore to the people of Rohru area today.Addressing a public meeting at Sandasu in Rohru of Shimla district, Chief Minister there were enough educational and health institutions and now there was a need to strengthen them and equip these with quality services.He said that the Rohru hospital had been announced to be upgraded to 200 bed facility and to meet the requirement, an additional accommodation was being added to the existing hospital. Similarly, the newly inaugurated Community Health Centre building at Sandasu would be strengthened by providing adequate doctors and para-medical staff so as to make it full fledged operational to cater to the health needs of the people. Today as many as six medical colleges were there in the State, out of which the medical college in Chamba, Hamirpur and Nahan would be made functional soon. Besides, the ESIC Medical College and Hospital at Ner Chowk in Mandi district would also be made operational, as the MoU had been signed by the State Government with ESIC, to handover the same to the State government which would further strengthen the medical care facilities in the State, he said. As far as educational set up was concerned, Rohru was having adequate institutions, Seema College and the Saraswati Nagar College. He said that when these colleges were being opened and besides one at Rampur, they were opposed by the BJP, which was even opposing the opening of educational institution these days also. 

He said that as of now, there was strength of more than 4000 students in Seema and Rampur colleges. He said that a polytechnic college was also functioning in Rohru to provide engineering courses to the youth of the area. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Primary Health Centre building at Diudi, (Amlatu) in Gram Panchayat Tangnu-Janglik, completed with an outlay of Rs 1.06 crore, inaugurated Community Health Centre at Sandasu completed with an outlay of Rs 1.20 crore, inaugurated the Science Block building of Senior Secondary School, Lower Koti completed at a cost of Rs 85 lakh.He also performed Bhoomi Poojan of Bakhirna-Mandli-Kotsari road to be upgraded with an outlay of Rs 2.70 crore.The Chief Minister also announced to upgrade Middle School Jakha  in GP Jakha, Dodra Kwar to High school.Earlier, while addressing a public meeting at Diudi, the Chief Minister announced Primary Health Centre at Dhamwari, construction of additional building for plus two schools of Tangnu of Gumma and of Pekha. He directed the PWD to construct the approach road to the newly constructed PHC and do beautification of its compound besides erecting a gate within a month. 

He also directed to complete the work of road from Gumma crusher to Tikri without delay. Besides, the Chief Minister also directed to construct a new road for Janglik from Tangnu. He also asked the PWD authorities to improve the grading of Dhamwari-Pekha-Diudi road.
