SC certificate to hold lifetime validity: Sukhbir Singh Badal

Ensure distribution of Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna cards by 15th July

Taking a revolutionary measure for the benefit of public, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today directed the welfare department to ensure that the SC certificate once issued would hold validity for the lifetime thus saving people from making continuous rounds of government offices.

Presiding over a meeting of Deputy Commissioners, the Deputy Chief Minister said Sewa Kendars in rural areas would be operational by 11th August, 2016 and in urban areas from 21st July thus heralding a new era in the administrative reforms where the people would get all the required services under one roof.Making more development centric announcements, S. Badal said skill development being the area of prime focus under the SAD-BJP government, all the skill centers throughout the state must be completed by 2nd September, 2016 and instructed the DC’s to monitor the project in their respective districts.Laying great stress on the implementation of welfare schemes of the government, S. Badal said all the cards under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna (BPSSSBY) should be distributed by 15th July. 

The Deputy Chief Minister was apprised of the fact that 27 Lakh cards had already been distributed in the state and every month about 11000 people avail the facilities offered under the yojna.He also reviewed the Urban Mission and Rural Missions and instructed that work should commence immediately on the allotted tenders. Batting for the best quality material to be used in the projects, he also said the work on the mission should get completed by 1st November, 2016 and the DC’s would certify that the works have been satisfactorily completed.He also disclosed that the DC’s are fully empowered to take decisions regarding the speedy execution of projects. The Deputy Chief Minister also said the amount of Rs. 500 crore under NREGA for the rural mission should be fully utilized by November, 2016. Divulging more, he said the DC’s should make it a point to send a monthly report concerning fund utilization under NREGA. He also instructed the DC’s to ensure the distribution of Atta-Dal cards by the end of July.He also asked the DC’s to submit a report within a week about the roads in dilapidated condition so that immediate corrective measures can be undertaken for their strengthening. Asking the DC’s to conduct surprise checks in the government offices in their respective districts, S. Badal said that it is necessary to maintain work discipline amongst the employees.On the occasion Rural Development & Panchayats Minister Sikander Singh Maluka, Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal, Principal Secretary Health Vinni Mahajan, Principal Secretary to the Deputy CM P.S. Aujla and Special Principal Secretaries to the Deputy CM Manvesh Singh Sidhu and Rahul Tewari were also present.
