Harsimrat Kaur Badal hails pro-farmer step of Union Government

The Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal has hailed the pro-farmer step promulgated by the public sector fertilizer manufacturers RCF and NFL for bringing down the MRP of DAP fertilizer by Rs. 2500 PMT, NPK by Rs. 1000 and MOP by Rs. 5000 PMT with immediate effect.Terming it as a giant step forward for ensuring the well being of the farming sector of the country especially Punjab, she said that now 50 Kg bag of the MOP would cost Rs. 250 less while the cost of DAP 50 Kg bag would be reduced by Rs. 125.Profusely thanking the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mr. Ananth Kumar and Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Mrs. Badal further elaborated that with this farmer friendly measure, the union government has proved its credentials as the savior of the farmers of this country who can now hope for agriculture being transformed into a profitable venture. She said this was the first time ever in the last 15 years that the prices of DAP, NPK and MOP had been reduced. This revolutionary step would result in farmers being benefitted to the tune of Rs. 4500 crores.Mrs. Badal also said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and the Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal also shared the vision of the Union Government to take steps benefitting the farming community which forms the backbone of the country’s economy.
