Dreams of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar are yet to be fulfilled: Arvind Kejriwal

Previous governments always used dalits as mere votebank

National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said that dreams of the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar are yet to be fulfilled and previous governments in state and Centre always used dalits as their votebank only.”The dreams, which Baba Saheb saw for dalits and for which he made ample provisions while writing the constitution, are yet to be fulfilled and once voted to power, AAP would accompanlish such dreams by providing level playing field to dalits in every sphere”, Kejriwal vowed while addressing a memonth gathering of Dalit community at Good Time Resort here.Refering to the suicides of dalit youth Rahit Vemula, Kejriwal said that it is shame on the politicians, who created such circumstances, which forced such a bright and intelligenct dalit student to take the extreme step of suicide.Delhi CM said that atrocities against dalits have incrased manifold during SAD-BJP regime in the state, which can be witnessed from the plight of a dalit (Bhim Tank), whose limbs were chopped off merely because he refused to work with a Liquor baron Akali leader.

“After formation of AAP’s government in Punjab, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be constituted to review all cases pertaining to atrocities against dalits and false cases registered against dalits would be withdrawn on the merit basis”, Kejriwal said while addressing the gathering.Earlier Baba Saheb Ambedkar did a commendable work for the upliftment of the dalits while writing the Indian Constitution, which was marvelously carried forward by Kanshi Ram ji, by getting all dalits united for fight to their rights, Kejriwal said adding that now the time is ripe for Dalits to get their dues by playing a signficant role in electing their new government in Punjab.AAP MP Bhagwant Mann, while addressing the gathering said, SAD-BJP goverenment delibrately denied dalits their rights and upcoming AAP government would provide them the level playing field for their ultimate growth in every sphere of life.State Convenor of AAP, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that AAP is the only party, which has first hand experience of the poor plight of the dalits and ground reality under which they are forced to live.
