First foss centre in Punjab by IIT Bombay at Indo Global Group of Colleges

IIT Bombay inaugurated first FOSS Centre Of Punjab at Indo Global Group of Colleges for the learning of Free Open Source Software (FOSS)  ,Which is Spoken Tutorial Program. This project is an offspring of Ministry of Human Resources Development under National Mission on Education through ICT Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay. The preparation is given free of expense through video conferencing using Skype by IIT Bombay. FOSS workshop is directed for faculty, research scholars and students to learn open source programming projects such as Linux, La Tex, Scilab, PHP, QCAD, My SQL, Python inspired by National Mission on Education through ICT Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay. The participant will appear for an Online Examination conducted in the Institute by IIT Bombay after successful completion of the Workshop.

Sukhdev Kumar Singla, Chairman Indo Global, Manav Singla, CEO Indo Global Colleges  were present during Inaugural session Er. Tanvir Singh is a State Officer of Punjab for Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay. He is Master's in Technology in Embedded Systems from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Mohali, Punjab .He has published 60+ review/research papers in International Journals/Conferences. Also, He is acting as President of Green Thinkerz Society with an aim to promote Environmental Sustainability.While Speaking at the moment Chairman Singla Said that the aim of free FOSS study is fostering an environment of self-learning, facilitating learning of any of the free open source softwares by the students, faculty members & research scholars of Science, IT, Engineering, Commerce and Management areas ,making the youngsters capable of getting expertise in these software and fetch the job easily or utilize in their enterprise to ensure economy.
