WSS Gujjar Basti to be commissioned shortly: Sham Lal Chowdhery

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Choudhary today informed the House that Arnia town is being provided drinking water through two tube wells located at ward No. 1 and Ward No. 10. He said WSS Gujjar Basti is under execution and would be commissioned shortly.Replying to a question by Kamal Verma,  the Minister said WSS Bishnah is ongoing scheme under LIC Loan Assistance with an estimated cost of Rs. 4.93 crore. He said Rs. 69.80 lakh stands incurred on the scheme upto last financial year.The Minister said on completion of the scheme, water supply in Bishnah town would be raised to 135 LPCD and newly developed settlement of the town would also be covered under the scheme.The Minister said that there is no reported case of epidemic spread due to contamination of water in the area. He said the water is being supplied to the consumers after proper chlorination.
