Govt thinking of revising destitute pension: Sajad Gani Lone

Minister for Social Welfare, Mr. Sajjad Gani Lone today informed the House that 218 pension cases of block Bani, Duggan, Lohai Malhar and Duggain are pending under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS). He said that 419 pension cases of these blocks are also pending under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).

Replying to a question by Jewan Lal, the Minister said that under National Family Benefit Scheme, 80 cases of these blocks are also pending for financial assistance.

The Minister said that the matter regarding clearness of pending cases under NSAP and ISSS has been taken up with Union Ministry and State Finance Department respectively.The Minister said that the proposal to revise pension of widows and physically challenged persons is under active consideration of the government.

Pawan Gupta in his supplementary demanded enhancement in pension of widows and other destitute.
