Organize awareness camps on Mental Health: Asiea Naqash

Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Housing & Urban Development, Ms Asiea Naqash, said that the Government is dedicated towards mental welfare of the people of J&k, especially youth and are taking possible steps to improve it.The Minister was chairing a meeting with the representatives of Medicine Sans Frontieres (MSF) or Doctors without Borders on release of Mental Health Survey Report 2015 of Kashmir.  The Minister discussed the issues related to mental health and the outcome of 2015 Survey.Ms. Naqash urged the MSF Director to organize various awareness camps on mental health in the most affected areas adding that MSF should organise camps in City and other Districts too and provide counselling to the patients suffering from various psychological disorder like depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) etc.The Minister was apprised by the Director of MSF about the work carried out in the Mental Health Survey. He said the expansion of mental health care services by a comprehensive and integrated decentralised prevention, care and treatment Program was needed in Kashmir.
