DDB Poonch felicitates Abdul Haq for creating Durable Assets in District

District Development Board Poonch today felicitated Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj , Law and Justice Abdul Haq for doing commendable job by the Rural Development Department in creating durable public infrastructure  in District Poonch. Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, who is also Chairman of DDB Poonch, presented a Commendation certificate to Abdul Haq at a function held at Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday.

 Lauding the efforts of Abdul Haq  for doing commendable job in rural development, Mr. Bukhari said all the Legislators and Member Parliaments have appreciated the developmental works carried out by the Rural Development Department in Poonch district.  He said Rural Development Department, under various schemes including MGNREGA, has constructed durable assets in the district which earlier merely was busy in constructing lanes and drains. He said the department has been constructing bridges, roads and culverts under MNREGA for the first time.

Earlier, Abdul Haq said new initiatives taken by the department will change the contour of rural areas and will bring rural areas at par with urban areas. He said several innovative initiatives have been taken for streamlining the functioning of the department to make it more vibrant,  accountable and transparent so that the benefits of the schemes would percolate at the grass-root levels. Abdul Haq  said that the job opportunities are provided to unskilled labourers in rural areas under MGNREGA Scheme. He said durable assets are created in rural areas by using manpower under MGNREGA Scheme. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, ACD Poonch was also present on the occasion.
