Government will examine release of house repair assistance to poor families through CDF: Haseeb Drabu

Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb A Drabu today assured the House that Government will examine the demand of revival of release of Rs 15000 from Constituency Development Funds (CDF) for up-gradation of houses under different schemes like Indra Awaas Yojna (IAY).The Minister was replying after the issue was raised by Mr. Abdul Majid Bhat Larmi during Zero Hour in Legislative Assembly today. The demand was backed by a number of members in the House.Mr Larmi said that Governor had previously stopped the grant of financial assistance to poor families from CDF. He demanded that Government should look into the matter as number of families have suffered in the aftermath of floods and this financial assistance can help them.Dr Drabu said that the Government will take up the matter in State Cabinet and the decision will be conveyed to the House.
