‘10 ongoing WSS under NRDWP in Udhampur Constituency’

Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control and PHE, Mr. Sham Choudhary, today said the government is committed to provide potable drinking water supply to all the areas of the State.Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Mr. Pawan Kumar Gupta, the Minister said that there is no mismanagement of drinking water supply in Udhampur Constituency.“There are 55 Water Supply Schemes in Udhampur Constituency out of which 23 schemes are functional and 32 schemes are partially functional,” the Minister said.Mr. Choudhary said there are 10 ongoing WSS under NRDWP in Udhampur Constituency out of which one scheme namely Water Supply Scheme Jaganoo with an estimated cost of Rs 234.10 lakh will be completed during the current financial year. “Besides, out of 10 ongoing WSS under District Plan, four schemes under coverage of Mohras will be completed during current financial year including Impt. of Moh. Charie Sewail, Impt. of Water Supply to Talanian Moh, Providing of Water Supply to Moh. Dail and Providing of water supply to Moh. Chang,” he said.The Minister said efforts will be made for completion of such other schemes during the current financial year which require modest funding for their completion.
