CHC Tangmarg identified for upgradation as Model Hospital: Bali Bhagat

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Bali Bhagat today informed the House that Sub-District Hospital Tangmarg was used as Sanatorium during British Rule and the patients with chest diseases were treated there.Replying to a question by Mr. Mohammad Abbas Wani, the Minister said that to improve the maternity services, the building infrastructure in CHC Tangmarg is being augmented.He said as per revenue records, 179 kanals of land is presently available at the hospital site. He said that a CHC is functional at Tangmarg with 04 consultants, 09 doctors and 40 para-medical staff in position. He said that 2 doctors and 11 paramedical staff have also been provided to the hospital under NHM to supplement the existing manpower.

The Minister said besides the requisite machinery/equipments, 4 ambulances  has been provided to the hospital for better patient care. He said that the construction work of additional block, labour room, Gynae ward is under execution at a cost of Rs. 2.28 crore against which Rs. 1.47 crore has been released under BADP adding that plinth work have been completed and columns are being raised.The Minister further informed that the proposal of 172 health institutions involving a financial implication of Rs. 525 crore for establishment of Model Hospitals in each constituency of the State. He said, however, on trial basis two hospitals viz SDH Basohli in Kathua and SDH Dooru in Anantnag were selected for establishment as Model Health Centers which are likely to be inaugurated in the month of July this year. He said thereafter, the scheme would be extended to the other districts of the state. He said that CHC Tangmarg has been identified for upgradation as Model Health Institution.
