APSCC meets Rajnath Singh , Presents memorandum to him

All Party Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) in a delegation today met, Union Home Minister of India Sh. Raj Nath Singh under in Delhi, under the leadership of its chairman S. Jagmohan Singh Raina and presented a memorandum to him. S. Trilochan Singh, former Chairman of National Minority Commission also accompanied the delegation.The memorandum demanded extension of National Minority Commission to Jammu and Kashmir State which is already promised by PDP, in their manifesto, the coalition partner of BJP in the state. The delegation informed the union minister about the migration of Sikh community from far flung areas of Kashmir valley to other places due to economic suffering. 

They also apprised the minister that the youth particularly of Sikh minority are in the clutches of unemployment and a large number of students fail to continue their higher studies due to financial strain. They demanded that the Sikh families migrated from villages to city areas of Srinagar city during the turmoil be given the status of migrant within the state.While giving assurance to the delegation the minister said that the demands of Sikh Minority will be taken up on priority basis by a core committee on Kashmir affairs Committee instituted by the Government of India. He also assured he will also discuss with the coalition government headed by PDP Chief Minister of the state. (KNS)
