Aam Aadmi Party on Monday asked Prime Minister Narindra Modi, who is coming to Chandigarh to celebrate ‘International Yoga Day’ to stop befooling people of Punjab and to fulfill the promises made to Punjabis before the elections.Addressing the press, AAP State convener, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that every time the news of Modi coming to Chandigarh or Punjab give hope to people of Punjab that the promises made by him will be fulfilled but in the end they get nothing but false hope. Chhotepur demanded that this time Modi must announce any package for Punjab as the state is in financial crunch at present. The agriculture and business need to be revamped and it can only be possible with the help of central government.Chhotepur said that Modi promised to implement Dr. Swaminathan committee recommendations but even after 2 years of government formation he has not uttered a single word regarding it. He said that to save the peasantry in the state, it is needed to implement Dr. Swaminathan report.

Talking about the international airport at Mohali, Chhotepur said that even after the 10 months of its inauguration by Modi himself, not even a single international flight has been commenced from it. He said that after repeated demands, the airport has not yet been renamed after Shaheed Bhagat Singh.Chhotepur said that Yoga is good for mind and body but it should not be imposed on the people who are not willing to do it. He also raised objections over misuse of government machinery for the personal benefits of few people. He said that the teachers and other public servants are also made to work forcefully to give mileage to people connected with Modi. He suggested Modi to do some serious business and let professionals do Yoga.Chhotepur also criticized Modi for turning blind eye to the drug problem in Punjab. He said that even after raising the issue in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi is not taking any action against people responsible for drug menace in Punjab. He asked Modi to let ED and CBI work independently to expose the drug lords in Punjab.
