Proposal for creation of new police stations under examination: Abdul Haq Khan

Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, today said Police Headquarters has been asked to work out a consolidated proposal for creation of new police posts/stations and sub divisions as per the requirement of the Police Department.While replying on behalf of Minister for Home to a question of Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo, the Minister said the proposal is under examination with the Police Headquarters.He informed the House that Union Ministry of Home Affairs has approved raising of 5 IR battalions in the State subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. He said requisite proposals are being worked out by the Home Department in consultation with the Police Headquarters for early sanction of these battalions.The Minister said State Government has enhanced the monthly honorarium of SPOs working in the Police Department as Rs 5000 for SPO having experience of less than a year, Rs 5500 on completion of one year and Rs 6000 on completion of three years.Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, Surinder Choudhary, Sofi Yousuf and Showkat Hussain Ganie raised supplementaries to the main question.
