DDC reviews functioning of Essential Services Deptts

To assess the functioning of various departments associated with essential services in Sub Division Mendhar, District Development Commissioner Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting of officers.The DDC had a detailed review of implementation of NFSA besides taking stock of bottlenecks in execution of this Act. He asked the concerned agencies to be vibrant and proactive in their approach to ensure that this Act is implemented in letter and spirit.He further asked for re-examining of lists for NFSA and addition of left out deserving families on priority basis after proper verification.The DDC also assessed the stock position of different ration items available in CAPD depots in far flung areas and passed necessary instructions to ration dealers for fair distribution in remote areas, specially the areas adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC).He directed the SDM and Tehsildar, Mendhar to remove the encroachments on ‘khacharai land’ and submit the action taken report in stipulated time frame.

He further directed the SDM to constitute a village level committee comprising of concerned Patwari, village level worker, anganwari worker, ASHA worker, lineman of PDD and PHE. The committee will be responsible to give timely feed back to the concerned department about problems of the areas so that remedial action can be taken well in time.The meeting also reviewed availability of drinking water and power supply during the ensuing monsoon season and ongoing Ramadan month.Later, the DDC held a meeting with ICDS project Mendhar, where he discussed important issues like proper enrolment in anganwari centres, quality of nutrition, role and responsibilities of AWWS in disseminating awareness about various child borne diseases. SDM Shair Singh, SDPO, Tehsildar,  Block Development Officer, CDPO,  AEEs  PDD and PHE besides RDD officials, anganwari workers, helpers, ration dealers and prominent citizens attended the meeting.
