Rs 28.54 cr released to 22 districts under CD and Panchayats: Abdul Haq Khan

Minister for Rural Development, Mr Abdul Haq today informed the House that Rs 28.54 crore have been released to 22 districts of the State under the head of CD and Panchayats, adding that out of which Rs 22.65 lakh were released to district Udhampur during last two fiscals.Replying to a question by Mr Ranbir Singh Pathania, the Minister said that Utilization Certificates (UCs) for 2014-15 were sent to Centre in time. He said that the expenditure was however less than 60 per cent recorded by the districts to claim the second installment as per guild lines.The Minster said that the revised UCs were sent in December 2015 and Union Ministry of Rural Development released an amount of Rs 19.58 crore as second installment. He said that the same amount is now being released to the districts whose expenditure is more than 60 per cent.

Responding to the supplementaries, the Minister said there is no ban for utilization of MGNREGA funds for the construction of Protection Bunds. He said that funds under Border Area Development, BRGF were closed. He further added that the Department is going to rationalize the staff and assure the House that vacant posts of BDOs and other Engineering staff would be filled on priority.Mr Vikar Rasool, Chaudhary Muhammad Akram, Engineer Abdul Rashid, Nawang Rigzin Jora raised supplementaries to the main question.
