World peace in danger due to unresolved Kashmir conflict: Sardar Yousuf

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat along with a delegation called on Federal Minister for religious affairs, Sardar Yousuf on Friday and apprised him about the latest prevailing situation in Kashmir.According to a statement issued to KNS, former AJK-APHC Convener Mehmood Ahmad Sagar, Hurriyat leader Narendra Singh Khalsa, Vice Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmad Bhat, Sheikh Abdul Muteen and Abdul Majeed Malik accompanied Zaffer Akbar Bhat.During the meeting, Sardar Yousuf said that unresolved Kashmir dispute has posed a threat to world peace. He maintained that bilateral relations with neighboring country India can’t be smoothened till the final and peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.He assured the delegation that Pakistan will continue to raise Kashmir issue in United Nations and other international forums and pitched its resolution according to UN resolutions.

During the meeting, Zaffer Akbar Bhat said that so-called democratic country has waged a war against unarmed Kashmiris while as double standards and silence maintained by world community including Security Council members- Russia, China, France, and America -is unfortunate and criminal in nature.Bhat said that India is treating Kashmiris as slaves from past 70 years and have massacred lakhs of innocent Kashmiris to suppress the genuine voices and ongoing freedom struggle; however Kashmiris are determinant and will not succumb under political pressure.

Zaffer said that political and religious rights of Kashmiris have been snatched as Pro-freedom leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirviaz Umar Farooq, Mohd Yasin Malik and thousands of others are not being allowed to perform religious obligations and even are not allowed to offer Friday prayers.He said that around 8 lakh troopers posted in Kahsmir have made the state virtually in Jail and human rights violations by the hands of army personnel continue to take place.Bhat said that policies like Industrial policy, sainik colony have been framed to change and alter the Muslim character of state. He said that such policies will not be allowed to succeed. He said that religious place and masjids of ours have been locked from time to time that exposed the real face of India.He expressed happiness over visiting Pakistan and thanked the country for moral, political and diplomatic support.

Sardar Yousf, Religious affairs Minister, reaffirmed to support the ongoing movement and said that countless sacrifices of Kashmiris will not be allowed to go waste.Vice Chairman Altaf Ahmad Bhat, Narendra Singh Khalsa and others also addressed the meeting.Meanwhile, Salvation Movement delegation comprising Molvi Rafiq, Ghulam Hasaan, Farooq Ahmad, Javed ahmad pargimai, Mushtaq Budgami visited Sopore and paid glowing tributes to youth martyred by forces yesterday. Leaders expressed sympathy with families of martyrs and wowed to continue ongoing movement. (KNS)
