Poultry farmers meet Kissan Board VC

Jammu and Kashmir  Poultry Farmers Coordination Committee today met Mr. Daljit Singh Chib, Vice Chairman , J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans and apprised him about the difficulties they are facing in their day to day work.  They informed him that their trade is in distress due to the fact that some outside poultry dealers have developed a new way of business by importing dressed birds instead of live birds on which presently there is no toll/tax due to which local farmers are compelled to sell their products on losses as such the poultry industry is at the verge of collapse.They also impressed on giving insurance cover to the poultry farming so that they can cope up with damages which often occur in their hatcheries.They also stressed for immediate ban on import of layer birds throughout the state which comes directly from Punjab and is spreading dangerous diseases, harmful for human beings.They also stressed on establishing modern investigation labs in every district so that neat and quality meat is provided to consumers.Mr. Daljit Singh Chib gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that he will convey their problems to the concerned quarters so that their hardships are addressed at the earliest.
