244 AMO posts sanctioned in Health Deptt: Syed Basharat Bukhari

Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today, replying on behalf of Health Minister to a question of S. Charanjeet Singh, informed that there are 244 sanctioned posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officers (AMOs) in Health Department,  of which 199 are in position and remaining 45 posts have been referred to recruiting agency for selection of suitable candidates.The Minister informed that 876 AYUSH doctors have been engaged on contractual basis in the state. He said the government has formulated an employment policy for BAMS doctors, adding that there are 289 unemployed BAMS graduates registered with Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine in the state.Vibodh Gupta raised supplementary to the main question.
