Upgrades various schools in Chopal Constituency, Inaugurates HRTC depot at Nerwa

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that due to consistent efforts of the successive Congress governments, Himachal Pradesh had already emerged as the leader in terms of development in the category of small states and now his government was working with a motive to see the state amongst the leading states of the country.He said that despite achieving various milestones of progress and prosperity, the state still needs to carry forward the momentum to achieve the aim of complete development.“My government is always open for constructive suggestions and keeps thinking with positivity for the welfare of the people and development of the state, which reflects the true spirit and approach of the government in the direction of progress”, he said.The Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting at Nerwa in Chopal constituency of Shimla district, last evening.He announced to open extension counter of gas agency at Nerwa.The Chief Minister also announced to upgrade   Kuthar, Geyon and Bharan schools to GSSS schools.He upgraded Dhartua, Bajasal, Bijah, Khudog, Bagar and Shatal schools to high schools.

Virbhadra Singh inspected the ongoing work of construction of Nerwa Degree College and directed the Public Works department to complete the remaining workwithin four monthsfor which the requisite funds had already been released. On the demand of the people of the area, he assured to consider opening of Tehsil at Nerwa and starting of P.G classes in Nerwa College.Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated newly opened HRTC depot at Nerwa and Tikkari-Dhanat and Batari to Kandal roads. He laid foundation stones of lift drinking water supply schemes to Hab, Obri, Kedi and Polia at a cost Rs. 149.64 lakh and from Bharanu Khud to Bharanu-Tharoch-Mundali and Mandhana to be completed at a cost of Rs. 356.62 lakh.He laid foundation stones of roads from Basra to Chainjan to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 306.14 lakh, from Mandhochi to Navi at a cost of Rs. 499 lakh besides up-gradation of road from Nerwa to Bamta at a cost of Rs. 1069 lakh and from Nakorapul to Khaddar to be completed at a cost of Rs. 499.66 lakh under PMGSY stage-II.The Chief Minister later held a meeting with officers at Nerwa to review the developmental works of Chopal assembly constituency and directed to complete all on-going projects in a time bound manner.MLA Shri Balbeer Verma thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning the work of road projects amounting to Rs. 200 crore, 20 lift drinking water schemes, up-grading of the Nerwa hospital, providing Tehsil status to Kupavi and opening of Fire Station in his constituency during last three and a half years.Chairman, H.P Marketing Board Dr. Subhash Manglate also expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Minister for accelerating the pace of development and fulfilling all demands of the people of the Chopal assembly segment. He said the opening of degree College at Nerwa would facilitate hundreds of students of this interior area in getting higher education near to their homes.
