62 damaged transformers replaced in Hiranagar constituency: Naeem Akhtar

Minister for Education, Naeem Akhter today informed the House that during the current financial year, 62 damaged transformers of different capacities have been replaced in Hiranagar constituency. He said 26 transformers were damaged in the constituency till June 4, 2016 which will also be replaced shortly.Replying to a question by Mr. Kuldeep Raj, the Minister said the damage to power distribution transformers and their subsequent replacement is a continuous process in the state including in Hiranagar constituency. 

In reply to the supplementary of the Member, Mr Akhtar said the Government has set up transformer banks in various districts, adding that the left-out districts would be also provided transformer banks so that consumers especially living in remote and far-flung areas do not face any inconvenience in power supply.
