DDC reviews functioning of PHE, PDD, Fire Services departments

District Development Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting to assess the ground situation regarding the availability of uninterrupted power and water  supply  and to control outbreak  of forest fire in the district .The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch Gurvinder Singh, SDM Mendhar Shair Singh, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, officers of the Fire and Emergency services besides other concerned.During the meeting, the DDC directed Executive Engineer PHE to ensure adequate water supply to the people keeping in view the prevailing hot weather conditions and consequent increase in demand for drinking water. He further gave directions to the department to ensure judicious use of potable drinking water while maintaining hassle free regular water supply in an equitable manner.The DDC also directed Executive Engineer PDD to avoid unscheduled curtailment of power supply, since emerging demand for drinking water can only be met if there is proper power supply as the latter complements the previous one.The DDC issued necessary directions to Fire and Emergency department to take requisite steps for controlling fire outbreaks in the wilds in the district.
