No proposal for construction of bridge on Lidder: Sunil Kumar

Minister of State for Public Works, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Sunil Kumar Sharma today, replying to a question of Ali Mohammad Dar, informed the house that the construction of double-lane bridge over River Jhelum at Soiteng is under execution with Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCC).The Minister informed that the bridge was sanctioned under NABARD Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)-XV at a cost of Rs 7.20 crore. He said an amount of Rs 6.73 crores have been incurred on the project till March 2016.The Minister informed that the bridge could not be completed on due date as the identified alignment had to be abandoned due to Army installation falling in the alignment.Sunil Sharma informed that JKPCC has conducted study and survey and accordingly re-framed the estimates for an amount of Rs 13.59 crore, adding that the bridge is likely to be completed by March 2017.
