Kashmiri delegation to attend UNHRC session in Geneva

Delegation would brief world audiences about political, social implications

Eight-member delegation led by APHC leader Altaf Hussain Wani is all set to leave for Geneva to attend 32nd session of United Nations Human Rights Council which will be attended by internationally acclaimed human rights defenders and the officials of the highest body.According to a statement issued to KNS, besides highlighting the plight of people of Jammu and Kashmir for the realization of right to self-determination, the Kashmiri delegates would apprise the world community about the worsening political and human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir. "The delegation would brief the world audiences about India’s design to change the demographic complexion of Muslim majority state and its political and social implications over the region," it said."During the weeks long tour the delegation is scheduled to arrange seminars on Kashmir and hold fringe meetings with delegates from across the globe converging in Geneva. The delegation will also organise a protest-camp outside the United Nations to expose atrocities being inflicted upon the people of Kashmir," the statement added.The other members of the delegation included Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Ishtiaq Hameed, Ahmed Qurashie, Shamim Shawal , Shugafta Ashraf and Zartash Niazi.
