Funds for 10 ANM /GNM schools released by Centre: Bali Bhagat

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Bali Bhagat today informed the House that no new Ancillary Medical Training (AMT) School has been sanctioned for the state. Adding that 21 new ANM/GNM Schools were sanctioned by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under upgradation /strengthening of State Nursing Services Scheme during 2010-11.Replying to a question by Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, the Minister said that out of these 21 new schools, funds for 11 ANM /GNM schools were released by the Centre in the first instance and infrastructure/buildings for 6 schools has been completed whereas, in case of rest work is in progress.The Minister said that during 2015-16 funds for remaining 10 ANM /GNM schools have been released by the Centre.

The Minister further said that the establishment of ANM school at Khansahib Budgam has been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Family and Welfare but formal approval alongwith necessary funds is yet to be conveyed to the State Government. He said that as and when the same is received from the Centre necessary action for establishment of the same facility would be accordingly initiated by the Department.Responding to supplementaries, the Minister said that Government would consider setting up an ANM school in Ganderbal district. He said that construction of ANM school buildings at Bandipora and Pulwama have been completed and would be made functional shortly.  He said the feasibility for setting up of ANM school at Ramnagar would be examined. Mian Altaf Ahmed, Usman Abdul Majid, Mohammad Khalil Bandh and Ranbir Singh Pathania raised supplementaries to the main question.
