Sant Kabir's teachings of universal brotherhood still relevant: Manish Tewari

Former Union Minister and the National Spokesperson of the Congress, Manish Tewari today said that the teachings of Sant Kabir about universal love and brotherhood were more relevant in today's world. "Our Indian culture and civilisation is great because the great saints and Gurus like Sant Kabir were born here and they showed the light to the whole humanity", Tewari said while addressing a function to mark the Parkash Utsav of the Saint.The Congress Spokesperson said, Sant Kabir had given the message of equality hundreds of years ago ahead of others. He congratulated Baljinder Singh Bunty for holding the function every year to mark the birth anniversary of Sant Kabir in Ludhiana.

Commenting on the current situation in the country and the state, he expressed grave  concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. Besides, he added, the Akali-BJP had also failed to curb the drug addiction in the state. As a matter of fact, he added, the drug addiction had increased and more people were falling prey to this scourge.Speaking on the occasion. Acharya Pramod, President of the All India Sant Samiti said that Sant Kabir was one of the greatest Spiritual Guru in the human history. On this occasion, Pawan Dewan Ex-DCC President, Rajesh Lalotia Gen. Secy. SC Dept. AICC, Prof. Rajinder Bhandari Vice Chairman Planning Board Punjab, Ashok Prashar Pappi, Gurmail Pehalwan, RD Sharma Dy. Mayor, Raj Kumar Atikay, Sandeep Bhagat, Inderjit Bhagat, Subhash Bhagat, Pt. Ramesh Bhagat were also present.
