Shutdown in Khudwani against arrests

A complete shutdown was observed in Khudwani area of Kulgam against the recent arrests of youths over Anantnag attack where two policemen including an officer were killed. According to GNS Correspondent, the shutdown was observed against the arrests of eight youths and people demanded their release, saying they were innocent and had no role in the attack on cops.Pertinently, the SOG detained Aqib Sofi, son of Abdul Rashid Sofi, Arif Sofi, son of Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, Shafat Sofi, son of Muhammad Yousuf Sofi, Majid Ali, son of Ali Muhammad Matto, Omar Rasheed, son of Abdul Rasheed Wani and Yamin Yousuf alias Bilal, son of Muhammad Yousuf Dar, all residents of Khudwani in Kulgam district. Two other youths including brother of a militant were also arrested. (GNS)
