Members raise issues of public importance in LC

Several members raised issues of public importance during the Zero Hour in the Legislative Council today.

Mr. Vibodh Gutpa demanded framing of policy for regularization of water boys and water ladies engaged in  Education Department.

Mr. Surinder Choudhry  called for promotion of border tourism available in Jangarh-Mirpur and Kotli areas of Nowshera.

Mr. Ramesh Arora called for establishing State Minority Commission and define the term “Minority” in the State taking cognizance of the recognition of Kashmiri Pandits as ‘reverse minority’ by the United Nations.

Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma demanded black topping of roads and  adequate power supply in Patnitop and Sanasar to give boost to tourism  sector.   

Mr. Sham Lal Bhagat drew the attention of Government towards situation arisen due to sinking of road at Korapani and demanded rehabilitation of habitants of the area and relief to the flood affected victims of Batote and Kud areas

Mr. Surinder Ambardar called for taking necessary measures to check alleged vandalization of Dhoodh Ganga waterways, while as Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta urged for balanced developmental plans and budgetary allocations.

Mr. Ghulam Nabi Monga demanded taking up of construction work on girls’ hostel in Kunzer, Gulmarg funded under Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

S. Dharambir Singh Oberoi and Mr. Ajatshatru Singh  raised security related issue of   legislators and demanded adequate number of vehicles to MLCs.

Mr. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone called for revisiting   the New Advertisement Policy.

Mr. Showkat Hussain Ganai demanded enhancement of honorarium of Special Police Officers (SPOs).

Ms. Dr. Shehnaz Ganai demanded early start of construction work on public park in Poonch.

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri drew the attention of Government towards scarcity of potable drinking water at Wabzan Kota and demanded  tanker facilities for the convenience  of the people, while as  Mr. Mohammad Muzzaffar Parrey demanded supply of potable drinking water in Hygam.

Master Noor Hussain drew the attention of Government towards damages caused in Kandi areas due to flood and demanded its early restoration.

Mr. Saif-ud-Din Bhat demanded laying of new water pipes in KhanSahib Constituency. S. Charanjit Singh demanded release of Commission report constituted to probe the killings of 13 persons during Nagar Kirtan incident.

Mr. Firdous Tak  drew the attention of Government  towards increasing death rate of neo-natal in State and demanded up-gradation of  neonatal care units in Jammu and Srinagar cities.

Ms. Rani Gargi Billowria raised the issue of daily wagers and contractual labors and demanded their regularization.
