Accusing Narindra Modi led NDA Government and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) responsible for their ‘deliberate’ attempts to save the skins of those involved in the massacre of Sikhs in 1984, Head of the Women Wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Prof. Baljinder Kaur today demanded immediate resignation of union cabinet minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal for her failure to ensure ‘justice’ to the victims of anti-Sikhs riots.Training her gun further towards Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Prof Baljinder Kaur said that Akalis, who claim to be champion of protecting the rights of Sikhs, failed to ensure justice to the community and rather her ( Harsimrat’s) conspicuous silence on the ‘defunct’ SIT indicates her consent to save the skin of Congress leaders, with whom, Akalis are playing a ‘friendly’ political match in Punjab.

Prof. Baljinder said although Modi government appointed SIT would have completed its investigation to prevail upon truth by now, but so far nothing has come out of the probe and rather in a clandestine manner, deadline of the SIT was extended for another one year. The SIT neither summoned any of the key accused including Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar for recording their statements, nor it (SIT) has sought any relevant information from the CBI and Delhi Police, which were earlier conducting the investigation, she claimed.Prof Baljinder alleged that as many as 49 RSS leaders were also involved in the massacre of Sikhs, BJP deliberately trying to ‘cover-up’ the entire investigation. It is pertinent to mention here that National Convenor of AAP Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narinder Modi to strengthen the functioning of SIT to take the investigation to its logical conclusion. “If SIT is failed to initiate investigation in an impartial manner, the probe should be handed over to the Delhi Government”, Kejriwal wrote to PM.
