DC reviews arrangements for holy month of Ramadan

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat today convened a meeting with senior officers of different department to review the arrangements made by the district administration for smooth celebration of holy month of Ramzan.During the meeting various issues were discussed in detail including availability of essential commodities, power and water supply, sanitation, security, medicare etc.Calling for ensuring the availability of all requisite and essential commodities to the people on prescribed rate during the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of all the department to work in  synergized manner so that the people do not face any inconvenience during the Holy Month.Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer PDD to ensure that the consumers get adequate power supply especially at the time of Iftar and Sehri.Directing the officials of PHE department for ensuring adequate supply of potable water, the Deputy Commissioner also asked to provide water tankers to the areas that are facing water shortage.

He further directed the authorities of CA&PD department to keep available essential commodities for the general public and asked for effective monitoring of public distribution mechanism in the district especially hilly areas and ensure that the quota of ration reaches and distributed to the people well in time.The Deputy Commissioner also directed the official of Municipal Committees to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness in and around the places of worships and at the places of congregations, beside the legal metrology department was also directed to ensure regular market checking  to keep vigil on the rates charged by the shopkeepers during the Holy Month and take action against the violators. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeshwar Singh Additional Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz Choudhary Ex Engineer PDD, PHE  Assistant Director CA&PD official of Legal Metrology and other departments beside Imams of different Masjids and prominent citizens were present in the meeting.
