Asiea Naqash reviews functioning of ICDS

Minister of State for Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Housing & Urban Development Department, Ms. Asiea Naqash today convened a meeting of officers to review the functioning of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and implementation of various projects under the scheme.The meeting was attended by Mission Director, ICDS, Joint Director, ICDS, Deputy Director ICDS and other officials of the concerned department.During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various issues including status of procurement of nutrition provided to the ICDS centres, identification of locations for opening of new Anganwadi centres, convergence of existing Anganwadi centres into crèche, Up-gradation of Anganwadi centres and Digitization of Data etc.

The Minister stressed upon the officers to ensure timely procurement and distribution of nutrition to the centres, saying that focus should be made on maintaining quality. She also urged them to take measures for implementation of convergence and up-gradation of anganwadi centre and establishing crèches as per guidelines given by the Government from time to time.The Minister asked the officers to work with zeal and dedication.
