Minister clarifies on sugar distribution system

Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Chaudhary Zulfkar Ali today said that 6600 quintals of sugar is available in Kashmir valley and 5000 quintals of sugar is available in Jammu division.The Minister said that for procurement of fresh stocks of sugar, floating of tenders and other formalities have been completed and it is expected that the sugar would be available for distribution at all sale outlets soon.Meanwhile the Minister strongly denied the allegations that sugar distribution is being done in ‘pick and choose’ manner. The Minister clarified that wherever the stock of sugar is available, it is being duly distributed among consumers of the particular area.
