Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’s Niece and Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi join AAP

Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’s sister Prakash Kaur’s daughter Gurjit Kaur Dhathh and former Skipper of Indian Hockey Team and Ex-IPS Officer Surinder Singh Sodhi today joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of National Spokesman of the party Sanjay Singh and State Convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur.Head of the Legal Cell of AAP, Himmat Singh Shergil, Party’s Spokesman Sukhpal Khaira, Member of the National Executive, Yamini Gaumer and Industry & Trade Wing’s Head Aman Arora and General Secretary Surinder Singh Rajpura and Head of the Farmers’ Wing Karanvir Singh Tiwana were also present on the occasion.While welcoming them in the party fold, Sanjay Singh and Chhotepur said that AAP family is strengthening day by day in Punjab and with joining of the Gurjit Kaur Dhathh and her husband Harbhajan Singh Dhathh along with Surinder Singh Sodhi, party would get more strength in the state.

Gurjit Kaur Dhathh said “I want to accomplish the vision of Bhagat Singh and found that AAP is the only party in Punjab which can fulfil this vision, as without changing the system, it cannot be possible”.Hailing from Ambala Jatta village of Tanda Urmur town of Hoshiarpur District, Dhathh family is known for its great social work and Harbhajan Singh Dhathh is Sarpanch of the village.Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi, who is also a former IPS Officer, has also proved his mettle not only in the Hockey Ground, but also in the Police Service.Sodhi, as a Captain of Hockey Team enabled Gold Medal in Olympics, Silver medal in Asian Games and Bronze media in Champion Trophy for the country. Sodhi also conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award and Maharaja Ranjit Award.Both Dhathh and Sodhi clarified that they joined the party (AAP) without any pre-condition and with an aim to eliminate both Congress and SAD-BJP combine from the state’s politics.
