AMS Stars Harwan beats Theed Tigers in final match

In the final match of Harwan Cricket League played between AMS Stars Harwan Vs Theed Tigers at Chandpora, AMS Stars Harwan won the match by 13 runs. After winning the toss AMS Stars Harwan decided to bat first and made 155 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Numan and Zameer made 55 and 48 runs respectively. Athar and Javied got 3 wickets each.Chasing the target Theed Tigers made only 142 runs, losing all their wickets. Athar made 61 runs and played a good inning for Theed Tigers. Saahil and Latief got 3 wickets each. Numan of AMS Stars Harwan was declared man of the match for making 55 runs and a wicket.Sajad Gulzar was declared man of the series for making 268 runs and 22 wickets in the series. Peer Waasim was awarded for making 449 runs (highest score) in the Tournament. 

Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS) was the chief guest on the occasion. In his speech, the ADDC said that the sports is essential for the overall development of youth and it also inculcates a sense of discipline and competitiveness. He said that these types of events should be on regular basis.Social & Political Activist, Peer Bilal highlighted the different issues related to the promotion of sports activities in the area.Aafaq Gadda also spoke on the occasion and called for holding these types of events all across the valley. He said that the talent of the local youth gets honed while participating these types of events.Abdul Ahad Bhat while speaking on the occassio complemented the organizers for holding such tournaments and hailed the organizing committee of Harwan Cricket League for organizing such mega event successfully.Syed Atta-ul-Lah Simnani Former ADC also spoke on the occasion.Later, the ADDC and Afaq Gada distributed trophies and prizes among the players.Thousands of sports lovers from different parts of the Srinagar City were present on the occasion.
