AIP celebrates State Flag Day, Er Rasheed hoists flag

Awami Itehaad Party (AIP) Tuesday celebrated State Flag Day in Ananthnag Islamabad.People in large numbers hailing from all walks of life participated in the impressive function held at Wazir Bagh.In a statement issued to KNS, AIP spokesman said that AIP president and MLA Langate Er Rasheed hoisted the flag, followed by singing of the State Anthem.Speaking on the occasion Er Rasheed asked New Delhi not to disrespect the commitments made with Kashmiri people from 1947 till date and added that the only way to resolve J&K dispute is to hold Plebiscite on both sides of LOC.Er Rasheed in his speech said, “Radical and communal voices in India need to read and understand the history and accept the fact that Maharaja who was an unconstitutional autocrat ruler exceeded to India against the wishes of majority community but he never had merged the state with union of India.“GOI should not mislead world community by saying that J&K Assembly has endorsed the accession, as Kashmiris were promised right to self-determination in a much bigger international form called United Nations,” he said.

Rasheed accused NC and PDP of acting as Delhi’s collaborators and playing their dirty role from time to time in complicating the issues and in helping New Delhi to snatch everything which Kashmiris were left with.He reminded New Delhi and its collaborators that it should not forget that it was New Delhi which has always shown dishonesty, disrespect and aggression to breach the trust and that was the reason why Kashmiris sometimes boycotted elections or took to arms and even some take stones in their hands.Rasheed demanded that State Flag should be hoisted in every government building especially High Court and all such offices where tri-colour is being hoisted.He demanded ‘7th June’ to be declared ‘State Holiday’ and asked should the mouth pieces of New Delhi explain why should J&K celebrate 14th or 15th August as J&K was a sovereign independent state till 27 October 1947.Rasheed reiterated that 7th June deserves much respect and appealed Kashmiris that they have no option but to preserve their own constitution, flag and state anthem so that theory of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ is defeated once for all.He appealed people of Anantnag to vote for AIP candidate Advocate Mujeeb ur Rehman in the by-election so that he can plead Kashmir Cause more effectively in and outside Assembly and communal forces in New Delhi will be made to realise that Kashmir is something different than what they believe.It is worth to mention that it was on this day 7th June 1952 that State Constituent Assembly approved a separate flag and its own anthem for the State.
