Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare Ms.  Asiea Naqash today chaired a meeting of Town Planning Organization to review the status of developmental works to be executed under Srinagar Master Plan.The Minister was briefed that a proposal has been formulated for construction of ring road in the Srinagar city which would go a long way in reducing traffic congestion. She was also apprised about various highlights of the Srinagar Master Plan.It was given out that a tunnel will be constructed from Dalgate to Zabarwan Park under Shankraachariya hills which will ease traffic congestion on Boulevard road, besides heritage buildings will be renovated and developed to give boost to heritage tourism. 

These heritage buildings would also be used for the accommodation of tourists. Ms. Asiea Naqash asked the concerned to ensure that lands are provided to the families whose houses have come under many road widening projects in the city, saying that all aspects of peoples’ welfare should be taken care of while planning developmental schemes for the city.The Minister asked the officers of SMC, SDA and other concerned departments   to work with coordinated efforts so that all provisions of the Master Plan are implemented smoothly without any inconvenience to the people.
