Parkash Singh Badal adopts ‘double standard’ on NDA Government: Bhagwant Mann

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament and Chairman of Campaign Committee of the party, Bhagwant Mann today accused Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for adopting ‘double standard’ on the performance of NDA Government and questions his (Badal) spending lakhs of rupees to give wide spread advertisements in support of Modi.On the one hand, Badal criticised Modi for inadequate hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Paddy, but on the other hand gives advertisements to highlight achievements of NDA Government, Mann said adding that it is all being done to save the Cabinet berth of his daughter-in-law Harsimrat Kaur Badal.Mann dared Badal to snap political ties with NDA and Harsimrat Kaur Badal should resign from the Modi’s cabinet if he (Badal) is really a well wisher of farmers.  Where are the truck-loaded with Money for Punjab sent by Modi, which Badal announced in the poll campaign for Lok Sabha?, Mann quipped.

Terming the meagre hike in MSP as a ‘cruel joke’ with the farmers, who were already  under heavy debt and forced to take the extreme step of suicides, Mann said adding that steep hike in the prices of Petrol & Diesel was just like rubbing salt on the wounds of farmers.  He demanded immediate roll back of the hike in petroleum products and adequate hike in the MSP of Paddy.AAP MP said before 2014 Lok Sabha Poll, Modi assured of the implementation of the Swaminathan’s report which recommended the linking of MSP with price index, but like other promises, Modi failed to make his words on this too, which ultimately proved as “Chunavi Jumla”.

Where are “Achche Din”, is steep hike in prices of every commodity is an indication of “Achche Din”?, Mann quipped adding that yes there is development in the country, but only for corporate giants like Ambanis and Adanis.“Actually ‘Achche Din’ are only for corporate houses, who were not only given subsidies but their corporate loans were also waived by Modi on one pretext or another”, Mann said claiming the plight of farmers has worsen during Modi’s rule.
