With a view to strengthen the Punjab Police, the State government will recruit 7416 male and female constables in a fair and transparent manner besides conducting a drug test on the aspiring candidates  competing for the jobs.Disclosing this Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said recruitment process for district police and armed police cadre had already been initiated and applicants could apply by June 21. The physical test and written tests would be conducted and all candidates would have to undergo drug test before the tests so as to ascertain the facts of use of contrabands by the youth.Mr Badal, who also holds home portfolio, said though it had already been established during army recruitments conducted in the past in the state that no drug addict was found during the selections but to re-assertion the reality it had been decided to take samples for testing the use of drugs, if any. He further added that no drug addict from Punjab was found positive during the recent selection trails of Chandigarh Police where more than dozen Punjabi youth were inducted in the force.Deputy CM said helpline numbers 9855914993 or 9855954993, 0172-6672302, 0172-6672303 & 0172-6672304 have also been provided for the applicants if they found any discrepancy or any tout demanding money for their selection besides on email helpdesk@punjabpolicerecruitment.in  and SMS facility have also been made available. He said the entire recruitment process would be videographed and candidates could also lodge plaint to the concerned police range/commissionerate recruitment board or zonal recruitment board about any illegality.
