DC Pulwama reviews R&B, PHE, Irrigation Deptts

The District Development Commissioner, Pulwama today chaired a meeting of Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE and Irrigation Departments wherein the performance of these departments was thoroughly reviewed. He instructed Executive Engineers to complete the ongoing schemes in a time bound manner so as to avoid cost overrun. He also impressed upon the officers that the labour work for executing the schemes of their departments, should be done in convergence mode with MGNREGA.Executive Engineer R&B informed that under NABARD, 24 roads are being taken up and 10 KM of road length is macadamized out of targeted 32 KM. Two bridges at Hajibal and Zahidbagh are to be completed in the current financial year, the meeting was further informed.The DDC directed for priority based completion of Pulwama-Lassipora road widening keeping in view the ongoing expansion of Industrial Estate at Lassipora. He also constituted a team comprising ADC, Ex-En R&B and District Panchayat Officer to resolve the issue of shifting of CRPF bunkers and acquisition of land at Tahab Village for road widening purpose.Under Central Road Fund, Lassipora-Arihal, Sangam- Lassipora and Awantipora-Tral roads are taken up for total cost of Rs. 28.60 crore.

The DDC directed connecting these roads with National Highway at an earliest.
