Resuming discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s address, 12 members today took part in discussion and raised various issues concerning people in the House. Mr. Showkat Hussain Ganie advocated women empowerment and implementation of Ladli Beti scheme in letter and spirit, so that the needy avail the benefits of the same.Mr. Surinder Kumar Choudhary said that present dispensation has launched a number of welfare programmes for upliftment of the people covering various sectors in the state. He appreciated the government’s efforts for giving flip to border tourism in areas like Suchetgarh and Chamliyal.Ms. Shehnaz Ganai called for open discussion on issues of public importance.Mr. Naresh Gupta demanded bringing MGNREGA under the ambit of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA), so that transparency and accountability is ensured. He also demanded focused attention of the government towards Horticulture sector in the Chenab valley.

 Mr. Surinder Ambardar stressed on early Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, besides 50 percent reservation for women candidates in these elections.Mr. Qaisar Jamsheed Lone demanded government jobs to the next of kin who lost their lives in Handwara incident under SRO 43.Mr. Vikramaditya Singh praised Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s vision particularly giving boost to border tourism in the state. He stressed for identification of new tourist spots in the Jammu region and development of Mubarak Mandi.

Mr. Sham Lal Bhagat asked the government to fill vacant posts in various departments for smooth functioning of them.

Mr. Yasir Reshi stressed for creating conducive atmosphere for dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits.

Mr. Saif-ud-Din Bhat called for implementation of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s vision for overall development of the state.

Mr. Sofi Yousuf said that we should collectively strive for maintaining peace in the state as it is very essential for development of the state.

Mr. Firdous Tak called for upgradation of infrastructure in dental hospitals of far flung areas of the state. He also called for upgrading the existing infra in the Dental College at Shirin Bagh, so that surgeries can be done on daily basis.
