Rs 28.86 cr project sanctioned under UIDSSMT for Sunderbani: Dr. Nirmal Singh

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that in order to improve basic amenities in Sunderbani town, a project report of Rs 1 crore has been formulated by the government and in this regard the Department has conveyed the authorization for acquisition of works to the extent of Rs. 50 lakh in the first phase during the last financial year.Replying to a question by Mr Ravinder Raina, the Deputy Chief Minister said that under IDMT, 8 developmental works were taken up for execution since last two years in Sunderbani and Nowshera towns. For the purpose Rs 19 lakh were released.The Deputy Chief Minister said that in Nowshera Town one project is under implementation under IHSDP at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.23 crore against which Rs. 2.45 crore has been released which comprises Rs. 1.67 crore Central share and Rs. 78.19 lakhs State share and Rs. 2.53 core been utilized upto April 2016 which includes Rs. 7.71 lakhs utilized from own resources of Municipal Committee.The Deputy Chief Mnister said that in Sunderbani town six projects were sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 27.86 crore under UIDSSMT. He said against which Rs 26.80 crore stands released and Rs 23.07 crore were utilized till date for development of different infrastructures in the town.   He said the proposal for construction of by-pass road from old bus stand to SDH Sunderbani is under active consideration of the government. He further said that the proposal for inclusion of Darshan Nagar in MC Nowshera is under consideration of the government.The Deputy Chief Minister said that salaries of the employees of MCs of Sunderbani and Nowshera besides other Municipal Councils and Committees stand released upto May 2016 by DULBJ.
