Shopian 2009 incident:KTK stages silent protest

Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen, a constituent of Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat G Monday staged a candle light silent protest against 2009 Shopian alleged twin murder and rape case. Scores of KTK activists led by Zamrooda Habib assembled here in Press Enclave. The activists carrying placards and banners alleged that both Asiya and her sister-in-law Neelofar in Shopian were raped and murdered while culprits were given a clean chit. “Even after the expiry of seven years, no action was initiated against the men in uniform who are directly involved in this heinous crime. Even CBI was used to hush up the case which speaks volumes,” Zamroods Habib told CNS.She said that Mehbooba Mufti the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir is a lady herself and she should understand the pain and soreness of victims. “Shopian twin murder and rape case should be re-opened and impartial investigation should be started to nail the rapists and killers,” Zamrooda Habib said.
