Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali inaugurates 5 projects in Darhal

Instructs CAPD to ensure 3 months advance ration distribution from July

Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has inaugurated 5 newly completed projects worth Rs 8.09 crore here in Darhal Assembly constituency .The newly constructed projects include two roads and two bridges which will provide connectivity to over 1 lakh population of various villages of the area.Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmad Bhat, PMGSY Engineers, Health Officers and other officers of Rajouri district were also present on the occasion.The projects inaugurated included upgraded 7 km road from Manohar Gala to Sawari completed at a cost of Rs 2.98 crore and another 7 km road from Mandirgala to Tarkassi constructed at a cost of Rs 2.83 crore. The other projects include two bridges on Mandirgala Tarkassi Road completed at a cost of Rs 1.61 crore and newly constructed building of New Type Primary Health Centre at Chakpatli constructed at Rs 66 lakh.Zulfkar also laid foundation stone for a Community Facilitation Centre at Peeri estimated to be completed at the cost of Rs 49.3 lakh. He instructed the Rural Development Department to complete the work before December 2016.

Reiterating his resolve to make Darhal a model constituency, Zulfkar said that government is focused on development of all areas and have launched multiple large scale projects to benefit the people. He added that works are in full swing to complete all projects in time bound manner to ensure that people are benefitted at the earliest.Listing development projects launched in the area, he said that work on Anas Irrigation scheme, Kotranka Khawas road and  Medical College at Mehra has already been initiated. He also made mention of various big projects sanctioned in Kotranka area.Asserting that the government has laid special thrust on promoting girl education, the Minister also announced a Girls Hostel for Peeri. He said the Girls Hostel would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.50 crore with all modern facilities to provide female students an opportunity to get education and achieve new heights.Highlighting the steps taken  by CAPD Department to ensure timely supply of food grain to the people,  he said from July this year the ration will be provided to people in advance for 3 months. He directed the department to adhere to the timeline strictly.Meanwhile Minister also inaugurated Peer Panchal Gas Agency at Thanamandi. Speaking on the occasion, he said that with the opening of the   outlet the people of Thanamandi will get hassle free supply of LPG. He instructed HP functionaries to ensure home delivery and timely supply of LPG cylinders to the consumers. He also instructed officers of Legal Metrology to keep a close check on the distribution mechanism and take action against those indulging in black-marketing of the domestic LPG cylinders.
