Punjab Governor Gave A Clarion Call To Develop Relevant Technology For Progress

The Punjab Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, while presiding over the 14th Annual Convocation of Sri Sukhmani Institute of Engineering and Technology Group Derabassi exhorted the students, faculty members and professors of the Sri Sukhmani Group to embark on a goal-oriented research and teaching which would enable Punjabi youth to take up the challenges of the State leading to national development.The Governor expressed that the Sukhmani Group was providing a complete, meaningful and relevant education to the youth of Punjab and the neighbouring States. He stressed upon using technologies which are relevant to the conditions in which we live and needed by larger number of the people. He said the industry today has become technology oriented which would be the prime factor for successful performance.Speaking on the occasion, Governor urged the students to adopt concept of five S , that is Skill, Seriousness , Sincerity, Social and Spirituality in your daily lives to become successful. The Governor said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has initiated programmes, like Digital India, Skill India and Make in India. He said that the youth have to play a significant role to materialize these programmes. He said that he was confident that youth would succeed in Making India one of the leading countries of the world in 21st Century.

Congratulating all the students who received their degrees today, Prof. Solanki, said the Convocation is an important milestone in the educational journey of the students. He implored them to face the challenges of the outside world with a positive attitude. He exhorted the students that in this competitive age, focus should be on enhancing capabilities and confidence to achieve excellence through commitment, vision, determination and hard work. He asked the students to build high character values along with education.Describing, the faculty of Sukhmani Group as instruments of change, the Governor, called upon academicians, educationists and intellectuals to develop action-oriented and progressive programmes, to encourage youth to achieve academic brilliance. He said institutions should continuously learn, improve and upgrade their knowledge, to face the emerging challenges of globalization.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included a Prof. Avtar Singh Chairman, Prof GN Verma, Principal SSIET, Registrar IKGPTU Dr Amandeep Singh , Prof Gurdeep Kaur Director Technical , Controller Examination PTU Mr. Parmjeet Singh, SDM Mr Shiv Kumar.
