DDC for raising funds, corpus of Red Cross volunteers

District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mohammad Aijaz who is also the Chairman of District Red Cross Society Ramban has stressed on making concerted efforts to raise funds for the society and enlarging the corpus of volunteers  for strengthening the functioning of the society in the district.The DDC was speaking at a meeting convened with various stakeholders here today.ADDC, Ravinder Nath Sadhu, ADC, Babu Ram, ACR, Vevaik Puri, ASP, Mushtaq Chodhary, CMO and other district officers and members of the civil society attended the meeting.The DDC asked for seeking contributions from employees for this noble cause which shall be utilized for the welfare of accident victims, poor and other needy people. He directed the officers for creating awareness about the role of Red Cross society so that more people are associated with it.

The DDC also stressed on involving more volunteers in Red Cross activities in every block. He directed the officers of health and police department to organize special training programmes for imparting requisite skills to these volunteers for carrying out rescue operation and providing first aid to victims of road accidents or other natural calamities. He also emphasized that special training shall be imparted to divers and make them well equipped with modern equipments for rescue operation.

Focusing on Junior Red Cross Fund, the DDC asked the officers to devise strategies for maximum inclusion of students, welfare associations and other NGOs for enhancing voluntary contribution for the society.
