Abdul Haq inaugurates Panchayat Ghar, CFC at Jandyal Lower

Says ‘My Village, My World‘initiative acted as a catalyst in rural transformation

Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq, today said the government is committed to ensure sustained development in all the three regions of the state with equal thrust on each sector.“The present dispensation has initiated several reformative steps for steering the state towards new dimensions of peace, progress and prosperity”, the Minister maintained. The Minister said this while addressing a huge gathering after inaugurating Panchayat Ghar and Common Facilitation Centre (CFC) at village Agore in Panchayat Jandyal Lower, block Mathwar which have been constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh each under Convergence Scheme with MGNREGA.MLA Nagrota Devinder Singh Rana, Director Rural Development Department Jammu M L Raina, ACD Jammu, Executive Engineers, BDOs, Sarpanchs, Panchs were also present on the occasion.

The Minister said the government is fully aware of the problems of rural hamlets and measures are underway to overcome the same so that the people get requisite facilities at their doorstep. He said instructions have been issued to the officers to ensure that all development works are completed within the fixed time period so that the benefit reaches the targeted population.Congratulating the people of Panchayat Lower Jandyal for the newly constructed Panchayat Ghar and Common Facilitation Center, the Minister urged the people to personally monitor development works in their respective areas and give feedback about the status of implementation of these works as they are eyes and ears of the government.Highlighting the importance  of  ‘My Village, My World‘ and “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” programmes, the Minister said that all stakeholders have to   play pro-active role in keeping the environment clean and green adding that proper sensitization about the issue and collective social responsibility  is vital for success of  these missions .  

The Minister appealed the people for massive participation in gram Panchayats for effective implementation of welfare schemes. He asked the people to preserve traditional water bodies as they are a vital source of water supply especially in view of fast shrinking water resources. Responding to the grievances of the people which mainly include repair/ renovation of ponds, road connectivity, power/water supply, healthcare, education, the Minister said that their legitimate demands would be addressed on priority. He directed the concerned authorities to start the construction work of stadium at Jandyal Upper and repair of road at Panchayat Ranjan at the earliest.Minister exhorted upon the officers to make judicious use of funds to avoid financial indiscipline so that durable assets are created in the region. He asked the people to keep the Panchayat clean and avoid use of polythene to keep the environment clean and green.Vote of thanks was presented by Block Development Officer, Dr Owais Ahmed.
