Timings Of All Government & Aided Schools Changed

Keeping Hot Summer In View, Timings Fixed At 7:30 Am-12 Noon , To Be Effective From 21st May

The Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema has today in a landmark decision changed the timings of all the Government and aided schools keeping in view the hot summers. Now, the school timings would be from 7:30 AM-12 Noon. The said timings would be applicable w.e.f. 21st May, 2016 till 31st May, 2016. Dr. Cheema has also instructed private schools of the state to change their timings in view of the scorching summer season as per the facilities available at their institutions.

In a statement here today, Dr. Cheema said that all the Government and aided schools include Primary, Middle, High and Secondary, Senior Secondary schools. He also disclosed that till the holidays, morning prayers would not be held and in its place the National Anthem would be played in each classroom during first period. He also said that the timings of Mid-Day Meals (Recess Period) would be fixed by the school heads at their own level.The Education Minister also divulged that the instructions concerning change of timings to private schools have been issued so as to ensure that no student suffers from any ailment owing to scorching heat.
