No Shortage Of Funds When It Comes To Overll Development Of State – Anil Joshi

Lays Foundation Stones Of Development Works Worth Rs 21 Crore In Khanna

Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi today said that there is no shortage of funds with the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government when it comes to carrying overall development of the state. He said that the Punjab government is committed to develop both urban as well as the rural areas at par and that is why, development works several crores are already underway in all parts of the state. He said this while speaking to media persons after laying the foundation stones of development works worth Rs 21 crore in Khanna, here today. These foundation stones were laid on Peerkhana Road and Guru Amar Dass Market areas of Khanna.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr Joshi said that with this Rs 21 crore, all roads of 33 wards under Municipal Council, Khanna would be constructed as well as developed in next five months time. He said that some of the newly developed localities of Khanna had poor quality roads, which would now be developed through these funds.Mr Joshi said that he has directed the Municipal Council officials that the roads should be constructed and developed in a free and fair manner using best quality material. He said that the officials have also been asked to complete all these works in next five months time.Senior Akali leader and former MLA Mr Ranjit Singh Talwandi thanked Mr Anil Joshi for granting Rs 21 crore for the construction of roads in Khanna. He requested Mr Joshi to release all these funds on time so that the roads are constructed in a time bound manner and without any hiccup.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLA Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli, ex MLA Mr Jagjiwan Singh Khirnia, Municipal Council President Mr Vikas Mehta, councillors Mr Anil Dutt Phalli, Mrs Rajni Phalli and Mr Jatinder Devgan, senior BJP leaders Mr Bikramjit Singh Cheema and Mr Ranjit Singh Hira, senior Akali leader Mr Iqbal Singh Channi, Mr Jatinderpal Singh Advocate, ADC Mr J K Jain, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Mr Jaspreet Singh, SP Mr Raj Kumar, besides several others.
